SIHARD 2601 is a ledeburitic chromium steel for high-performance cutting tools, offering better toughness than D3 and the possibility of nitriding. This alloy has very high compressive strength and deep hardening capabilities.

Continuous Cooling Transformation (CCT)
Tempering
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 980 - 1010°C followed by oil, air quenching or warm bath quenching. Hardness after quenching is 63 - 65 HRC.
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1050-850°C.
